Welcome to the Oscill8 Readme file. Here, we just briefly cover the install procedure for Oscill8; the remaining documentation can be found via the Help menu in Oscill8, or by 1) opening $OSCILL_DIR/doc/index.html in your favorite browser. 2) going to http://oscill8.sourceforge.net/doc. Installation ------------ 0) NOTE: Currently, Oscill8 is only available for windows systems. The linux version has a planned release date of June 2005. 1) a) On windows, you need to have the ".NET Framework 1.1 Redistributable Package" installed. Go to http:://msdn.microsoft.com/downloads and get this package and install it. b) On linux, you'll need to have the latest Mono runtime. Go to http://www.mono-project.com to get this for your particular linux distribution. 2) Download and install the latest Oscill8 installation package from http://sourceforge.net/projects/oscill8. For windows, this will be oscill8_setup_X.exe, where X is the release version. For linux, this will be ??? (the linux version is not yet available!!). In addition, you may want to get the oscill8 examples distribution if you're new to Oscill8. In includes a few prebuilt workspaces and several ODE files that are compatible with Oscill8. 3) Run Oscill8!! It's probably a good idea to read the documentation (see above for where to find this) and/or open one of the example workspaces. Bug Reports & Feature Requests ------------------------------ Please feel free to submit bug reports and/or feature requests to http://sourceforge.net/projects/oscill8 or by sending them to emeryconrad_at_users_dot_sourceforge_dot_net (substitute @ and . for _at_ and _dot_).
